England's five-star Tigers

England head coach Andy Robinson has named five Tigers players in his starting line-up to face New Zealand this Sunday. That number is more than any other Guinness Premiership club, with only Sale and Gloucester contributing more than one starter.

Martin Corry has been chosen to lead the side following much speculation as to who would be selected as captain. Corry is joined in a powerful-looking forward pack by fellow Tigers George Chuter, Julian White, Ben Kay and Lewis Moody. Kay has also been named as one of three vice-captains for the clash with the All Blacks.

"Martin captained the England team very well last year and throughout those matches led the side from the front," said Robinson. "Charlie Hodgson, Ben Kay and Shaun Perry have been named as vice-captains for this game. All three have a major impact on the way we play and I am very confident they will give Martin valuable assistance."

Robinson has also announced two new caps in Anthony Allen and Shaun Perry for Sunday's Investec Challenge series opener at Twickenham.

Gloucester Rugby centre Allen, 20, and 28-year-old Bristol Rugby scrum-half Perry will line up for the first time against the World Cup favourites.

"I'm delighted for Anthony and Shaun as well as the other players selected for what will be a huge challenge. Shaun was unfortunate not to tour in the summer because of a wrist injury but he has maintained his form from last season and it's now right that he gets his chance."

Josh Lewsey (knee), Olly Morgan (shoulder) and James Forrester (knee) were not considered because of injury, while Mathew Tait has returned to Newcastle Falcons to continue his rehabilitation after a thigh strain.
