Entries open for under-11 and under-12 teams

The Leicester Tigers leg of the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup has been confirmed for Sunday, June 13 and there are still places left for club teams of under-11s and under-12s to sign up.

This event will be hosted at the club’s community partner Brooksby Melton College, home of the Tigers’ ACE and Development 16+ Rugby Programme.

The facilities and pitches at Brooksby has been developed over the last few years and will provide a great environment for teams in this free-to-enter event run by Premiership clubs throughout the country.

The return of the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup is a huge boost for grassroots rugby as clubs are able to open their doors again and this year will follow the ‘two touch rugby’ format with teams of 10 from squads of 15 maximum.

This is one of the longest-standing national series of rugby festivals for age group rugby and is always a prominent date in the season for clubs to get involved.

It cannot be underestimated how important these grassroots rugby events are for rugby in the UK as young players learn vital lessons from taking part which will serve them well on and off the pitch.

More than 100,000 youngsters have taken part in the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup so far, including a number who have gone on to play for Premiership Rugby clubs. This shows the pathway youngsters can take on their journey thanks to Land Rover’s support of grassroots rugby.

Land Rover is proud to be the official vehicle of Premiership Rugby, a partnership which stretches back to 2002. In the UK, Land Rover has been supporting rugby at all levels, from grassroots to the elite, for nearly two decades.

Lewis Moody, Land Rover ambassador and former Tigers back-rower, said: “The return of the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup across the country is a huge boost for grassroots rugby. It is one of the longest-standing national series of rugby festivals for under-11s and under-12s, and is always a date in season that clubs look forward to.”

The Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup is a key part of the rugby calendar and allows Land Rover to connect with the rugby community and the people at the heart of it.

Land Rover recognises this area of the game is essential for the continued growth of rugby and plays an important role in local communities.
