Following the delay in the easing of government lockdown restrictions in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the European Champions 2000/01 Anniversary Evening has been postponed, with a new date of September 29, 2021.
The government’s announcement pushed back the complete easing of lockdown restrictions from June 21 until July 19, pending a further review.
The Dinner, which marks twenty years since the club lifted its first European title following a 34-30 victory over Stade Français at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
Event organisers The Sporting Club announced the decision earlier this week, and reassured all attendees that all bookings will roll over until the event and further details will be announced nearer the new proposed date.
The 2021 celebration event is hosted in partnership with Switch the Play Foundation, a charity co-founded by the game’s try-scoring hero Leon Lloyd and the UK's only charity dedicated to supporting all sportspeople to successfully transition into life outside of sport.
