Leicester Tigers will open the Heineken Champions Cup season with a trip to Bordeaux-Bègles in December and a home game against Connacht Rugby a week later.
Tigers return to Europe’s top-flight club competition in 2021/22 after a sixth-place finish in the Gallagher Premiership last season and will open the campaign with a first-ever trip to face Bordeaux-Bègles on the weekend of December 10/11/12.
Connacht, who made their first trip to Mattioli Woods Welford Road last season’s Challenge Cup, return in Round 2 on the weekend before Christmas.
The reverse fixtures take place in the New Year, with Tigers travelling to Ireland on January 14/15/16 and ending the pool stages a week later with the home game against Bordeaux-Bègles.

The Heineken Champions Cup will feature 24 clubs in two pools with eight representatives from each of Europe’s leading professional leagues. The eight highest-ranked clubs from each of the two pools will qualify for the knockout stage, beginning with a Round of 16 on a home-and-away basis, then quarter-finals and semi-finals, with the final in Marseille on May 28.
Exact dates of the pool stage fixtures, as well as kick-off times and TV coverage, will be announced as soon as possible following further consultation with clubs and EPCR’s partner broadcasters.
Home games in the pool stages are included in Tigers season tickets alongside entry to all 12 Gallagher Premiership home games and two games in the Premiership Rugby Cup. Contact the Tigers ticket office by phoning 0116 319 8888 for more details or book online. Match ticket details for these fixtures will be confirmed in due course.
