Newcastle Falcons have announced the signing of prop Kieran Brookes from Leicester Tigers for next season.

The 22-year-old Brookes has agreed a two-year-deal with the Falcons who are top of the RFU Championship and chasing promotion to the Aviva Premiership.

England Saxons cap Brookes made 40 appearances for the Falcons during his previous spell on Tyneside and has also played in two league games for the club this season before being recalled by Tigers as injury cover.

Newcastle have also agreed a two-year contract with 26-year-old former Saracens centre Adam Powell.

Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards said: “I am thrilled that they have signed for us, and I am very much looking forward to working with them. Adam and Kieran are quality acquisitions and they can see what we are trying to do at the club in the long term.”
