Tigers were beaten 40-30 in the Stade Marcel Michelin in France on Sunday, but a home win this weekend could take them back above Clermont in the Pool 3 table.
“It is a big week for us,” said Flood who scored one of three Tigers tries in an amazing closing period in Clermont.
“There are a lot disappointed people in the dressing room, but we are really aware of what needs to come now.
“It is times like this when Leicester have come to the fore in recent times. There are guys in the squad who have been doing for that eight, nine, ten years, and they are the guys who are going to inspire us this week.”
Tigers just missed out on at least one bonus point in Clermont, fighting back from 35-9 down entering the last 10 minutes with tries from Flood, Anthony Allen and Jeremy Staunton, and then going within a whisker of a fourth score just before the final whistle.
“I think the game was won and fought on mistakes,” said England international fly-half Flood.
“We made mistakes in the first half and we were punished, then they made mistakes near the end and we scored. That is something both teams will want to look at.
“We conceded points early on and every time we chipped into their lead they came back and scored. The try they scored right on the 40-minute mark was really hard.”
