Season ticket holders joined the first-team squad at Welford Road for an exclusive training session.

The squad were put through their paces by Richard Cockerill and Matt O’Connor in front of around 600 supporters.

The 90-minute training session included lineout work, handling and rucking drills and there was also a chance to watch kickers Toby Flood, Jeremy Staunton and Billy Twelvetrees in action.

Tigers players signed autographs and posed for photographs with supporters after the session while backroom staff in the physio, conditioning and analysis departments took part in a question and answer session in the Final Whistle in the Caterpillar Stand.

“I got a lot out of it,” said season ticket holder Chris Whatsize. “I was amazed at the level of professionalism that is put into it and how much effort is put in as a team. I got a huge amount out of it.”

“It’s been really good,” said director of rugby Cockerill. “We had an excellent turnout and it just shows the support there is for Tigers.”
