Food and drink at Tigers | Nine games in…

Figure image

Since Leicester Tigers announced its partnership with caterer Levy UK, we wanted to update you on the progress made across the first half of the season at home games at Welford Road

The aim is to highlight the positives as well as some of the areas we are continuing to improve following supporter feedback.

Supporters are being served faster

When compared with speed of service data from last season, there has been a significant improvement made in the first half of the season’s fixtures. The transaction time is the time taken in between each new transaction, which is supported by a number of fast lanes, self-service kiosks and a cashless environment.

We estimate that speed of service has increased by around 30% stadium-wide.

Increased range and quality of food

The club offers more choice than ever before for fans on matchdays, introducing a number of new brands such as Scrum Dogs, Blindside Kitchen and Grubber Pie Co. throughout the stadium.

The Red Leicester sausage rolls have proven a real local hero, and there have also been great steps taken in broadening the range available for those with dietary requirements – in particular a new vegan range.

Improving technology and offers

The club has installed 67 new digital screens around Welford Road since last season. These screens are linked to 115 new Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) tills. This new technology allows us to bring supporters pre and post-match offers – so if fans want to stay after the game they can enjoy a Tiger Cask ale for just £3.50.

Pint cup and cup returns

The club has received feedback on the newly designed pint cups. We endeavour to pour every pint fairly and have amended our team training to accommodate the new cup.

A reminder that pint cups can be returned at any time in all bars around the stadium at any open service point, with dedicated kiosks remaining open at all entrances and exits after the game. The installation of additional tills around the stadium have been consistently reducing this queue time.

Training matchday bar staff

The club is committed to giving supporters the best customer service across the stadium.

To deliver this, improved training and experience levels remain a commitment alongside our updated briefing processes. The club will benefit from Levy UK’s links with wider matchday venues, such as the nearby King Power Stadium, allowing for additional support and more frequent work for team members across a number of stadiums each season.

Tigers are next in action against Wasps on Saturday, February 15 in the Gallagher Premiership where if fans haven’t already, they too can sample this season’s matchday menus.

Match tickets for the game are available by clicking here, or contacting the Leicester Tigers ticket office on 0116 319 8888 (option 2).
