Ford on form in another victory

Skipper George Ford kicked 23 points as England Under-18s beat Wales 43-22 at Swansea on Sunday to extend their unbeaten run to 16 internationals.

Leicester Tigers fly-half Ford landed five penalties and four conversions in a perfect kicking display and also helped to control the game for England.

Second row Sam Twomey scored two tries, with flanker Billy Vunipola adding a third and centre Elliott Daly adding a fourth from the final move of the match

Ford controlled England's revival from 16-7 down early in the second half with a superb kicking display, successful with all nine shots at goal for a 23-point individual haul.

"We wanted to go out and score tries and, while we got one early on, we just couldn't get in the right field position after that," Ford said.

"In the second half we really came out of the blocks and scored three good tries, and to score 40 points against Wales is a massive effort. Sometimes it doesn't always come off. We try and play with ambition and we all buy into that.

"I kicked all right today but fair play for the boys for getting me in the right positions."

Ford has already led England Under-18s to victories over Australia Schools, France and Italy this year, and the squad will look to add to that record when they meet Ireland and Scotland in the next fortnight.
