Four Leicester Tigers wheelchair rugby players have been named in the Team GB wheelchair rugby squad to take part in the inaugural Quad Nations tournament in March.

Muhammad Islam, Nicholas Cummins, Gavin Walker and Jamie Stead all made the cut for Team GB who will face the national teams of Australia, Japan and the USA.

Tigers chairman Rob Tarr said: “We're all really proud of the lads selection and it's great for Tigers to have such a strong presence in the Team GB set-up.”

"To have an international event here in our hometown is a fantastic opportunity for the club to be involved with. Everyone at Tigers has been working hard to solidfy our league position at the top and the table and the selection is testament to all the players and backroom staff.

"We're looking forward to a great event and we're sure the #TigersFamily will be out in full support."

Team GB head coach Paul Shaw said: “This is the most difficult selection challenge I have faced since becoming head coach in 2013. We are now seeing the benefit of our development programmes and competitive league system with some really exciting talent to select from.”
