A dozen world-class players have now returned to the club after Rugby World Cup duty and, with no compulsory rest periods on their return from international squad, they will be keen to get straight back to work with Tigers.
Director of rugby Richard Cockerill says: “We’ll take each of the World Cup players on their own merits in terms of throwing them back in, but to have those guys back at the club is a big boost for everyone. We’ve had a tough start and we need to get back on track, especially at home.”
Cup holders Gloucester will travel in good spirits to a stadium which produced a thrilling draw in last season’s Aviva Premiership encounter, and they opened their cup defence with a 58-27 over Sale Sharks in Round One.
