Generous gesture from club partner Global Payments

Leicester Tigers club partner Global Payments treated a group from the Teenage Cancer Trust to a matchday to remember at Tigers last Gallagher Premiership home game of 2018 against Harlequins.

Global Payments, who provide international payments solutions, have worked with the Teenage Cancer Trust for a number of years helping to support the work of the charity for young people with cancer.

As part of the company’s partnership with Leicester Tigers, the club has access to its very own matchday hospitality box at Welford Road. With space for up to 12 people, Global Payments offered its spaces to children from the charity to experience a matchday with a difference.

The group enjoyed indoor seating and refreshments, their very own padded seats in the Mattioli Woods Stand as well as a personal visit from two current Leicester Tigers players.

Louise Pursglove, head of marketing from global payments, said: “We work closely with one of our charities, the Teenage Cancer Trust, to help raise money and awareness. For today’s game, we wanted to give something more, which is why we offered places in our matchday hospitality box here at Welford Road.

“We’ve been working with the charity for the last couple of years, and I spoke to our contact there about making the opportunity possible for some of the kids to come along and experience what a Leicester Tigers match is like. “The group we have are at different stages of their treatment, but we hope that today offers some relief. They even got to meet Tigers players Kyle Eastmond and Valentino Mapapapalagi.”

Global Payments also help to support the Global Payments Healthy Schools programme, which is an initiative for primary schools across to Leicestershire to help promote healthy living and eating.
