Geordan launches autobiography in Leicester

Geordan Murphy is putting pen to paper to reflect on his glorious rugby career, with the launch of his autobiography at the start of the new season.

The Leicester Tigers captain’s book – titled ‘The Outsider’ – is published by Penguin and includes his recollections of growing up in Ireland and the breakthrough at Leicester after being invited for a trial as a teenager, plus the stories of his 15 seasons at the Tigers.

Geordan also talks about his international career with Ireland and the British & Irish Lions, and there is space for tales involving the characters he has met and played alongside at Welford Road as well as on the international stage.

Tigers supporters can be the first to buy a copy of the book – and have it signed by Murphy – with a publication-date signing session at Waterstones in Market Street, Leicester, on Thursday, September 6 (from 4.30pm).

Geordan has now topped 300 appearances for Tigers since his debut in 1997, and has won seven league titles and back-to-back Heineken Cups as a Leicester player.
