Get ready for a return to action in summer

The Gallagher Premiership and European Rugby seasons might be on hold, as the world continues to navigate the unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic, but the game will be back.

Have no fear, the powers that be are working tirelessly to see the sport return and, soon enough, rugby union will once again grace the stadiums over the world and be back on the box for families to enjoy.

The Tigers squad – including international stars Manu Tuilagi, George Ford, Ellis Genge, Ben Youngs, Telusa Veainu, Tomás Lavanini – are continuing to work hard at home ahead of the highly-anticipated return to action in the 2019/20 season.

So, like your Tigers heroes, those youngsters currently honing their skills in gardens with siblings subbing in for team-mates and parents for coaches, there is no need to put progress on pause!

But, when we all emerge from this postponement period, Tigers Community Coaches and members of the club’s squad will be on hand to help ready Cubs across the county and country for a return to action.

Tigers Summer Rugby Camps will begin on July 20 at Scarborough RFC for youngsters from Under-7s to Under-15s, including Full Camps and Tag Rugby programmes, before Camps at Lichfield RFC and Shipston-on-Stour in the final week of July.

In August, Ratcliffe College, Vipers RFC, Woodbridge RFC, Trent College in Nottingham, Market Harborough and St Hugh’s School in Lincolnshire will welcome youngsters for Full, Tag and Girls Camps.

The annual, residential camp at Bishop Burton College will also take place in mid-August, as Under-13s to 18s experience life as a professional rugby player, in camp with team-mates on the next step up the ladder to one day becoming a Leicester Tigers squad member.
