Global Payments join Tigers as partner

Leicester Tigers are delighted to welcome Global Payments as a new commercial partner.

Global Payments, a leader in providing payment and commerce technology solutions, has built a worldwide reputation in retail, education, hospitality and transport sectors from its UK location in Leicester.

Tigers commercial director Andrea Pinchen said: “In a space that is seeing many clubs and organisations struggle to source commercial partnerships, Leicester Tigers continue to lead the way as we welcome Global Payments to the Tigers Family.

“The relationship between Tigers and Global Payments has flourished over the years and, working closely with our ticket sales teams, they understand the needs of the Tigers Family.

“Global Payments is a major brand in its field and we are delighted to welcome them on board at Welford Road.”

As part of the link with Tigers, Global Payments will help support a healthy schools initiative, focusing on educating primary school communities on the benefits of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle.

“The club now has its biggest-ever partnership total, demonstrating just how attractive the Tigers remain in the commercial world,” Pinchen added.

“Partners play a huge role in helping to support the club, in assisting funding of community programmes, broadening and diversifying business networks, building brand awareness and, not forgetting, helping to drive success on the rugby pitch.”

The club marked the announcement of the partnership with a presentation to Global Payments during half-time in Sunday’s European Champions Cup tie against Munster Rugby in front of a 23,000-strong crowd at Welford Road.

Pete Bettles, Director of European product and schemes at Global Payments, said: “This was a tremendous opportunity for us to further enhance our commitment to Leicester Tigers, in the heart of Leicester, our community and home of Global Payments in the UK.

“The Tigers share our values in relation to creating opportunities, healthy competition, respect and support for the local community, so this was a natural fit for both parties.

“We are proud of the brand affiliation and looking forward to playing a very active partnership with Leicester Tigers, one of the largest rugby clubs in the country.”
