Liebenberg looking forward to physical battle

Hanro Liebenberg says the side's approach to Saturday's Gallagher Premiership semi-final will not differ from the week-to-week approach taken during the 21/22 campaign.

The Leicester Tigers vice-captain says the focus throughout the training week has been on improvement, to make the next game's performance better than the last.

"The way we approach every week, the way we train to get better, you are consistently striving to improve as a player and as a team," said Liebenberg.

“We have not accomplished anything but, as long as we have that mindset to improve, we are heading in the right direction.”

Liebenberg is prepared for a physical and attritional battle among the forwards at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, as you would expect in a derby semi-final.

“Northampton have a very hard-working pack with a back row of very good ball-carriers,” he added.

“They pride themselves on their forwards and set-piece, and it is going to be a good physical battle.

“We have a few key areas we focus on and we know the threats they bring, especially with the ability they have to shift the ball wide so well and the experienced, class players they have throughout their squad."
