Great time at Lincolnshire Show

The Leicester Tigers roadshow team enjoyed two hugely successful days at the 127th Lincolnshire Show.

An estimated 68,000 visitors attended the event at the Lincolnshire Showground on Wednesday and Thursday with the Tigers mobile unit The Maul proving a popular attraction.

Visitors of all ages attempted to win a family ticket to the opening game of next season at Welford Road with the Tigers interactive quiz, the Spot The Ball Wall and the Speedpass Challenge.

Young players improved their skills during coaching sessions with the Tigers community team and also had their photographs taken with club mascot, Leicester The Tiger.

And Leicester enjoyed plenty of what was on offer from the rest of the show, including the Paras’ parachute tower, Lincoln City Football Club’s Speed Kick Challenge and the livestock displays.

Chris Rose, Tigers head of brand development, said: “We enjoy very close links with Lincolnshire and have a lot of season ticket holders in the county but the level of support for the Leicester Tigers never ceases to amaze us.

“The quality of rugby players in the county was underlined by the scores they racked up on the Speedpass Challenge and our coaches were very impressed with the standard of players taking part in their drills.

“It was a fantastic event and great to be able to meet Tigers fans new and old outside of the rugby season.”

Show director Richard Collett said: “Everyone has enjoyed the show, despite the odd shower. Whatever the weather, there’s so much on offer with the hundreds of trade stands and shops, and exciting programmes in all the rings.”

“It’s gone very well and I’m very pleased.”

The Maul will be at the Heart of the Forest Festival in Measham this Saturday and the Royal Norfolk Show in Norwich on Wednesday and Thursday (June 29 and 30).
