Grow a 'Mo' for Hambo

Figure image
The players and staff of Leicester Tigers are all set to 'Grow a Mo for Hambo'.

Throughout the month of November, the current Tigers squad, along with coaching and administrative staff, will be attempting to grow a moustache or beard in aid of the Matt Hampson Trust.

The idea is part of a wider initiative attempting to raise awareness of spinal research and Matt’s trust fund. ‘Grow a Mo for Hambo’ is also reaching far wider than Leicester Tigers, with as many Guinness Premiership players as possible being encouraged to participate.

The sight of two Premiership teams going head-to-head with ridiculous handlebars or Zapatas is certain to gain a fair bit of attention, but the general public are also being encouraged to join in with the facial hair festivities. This means you or your friends or family can attempt to outdo George Chuter’s mighty beard or Geordan Murphy’s copper-coloured concoction. Supporters can send their pics to [email protected] with the best efforts set to feature in future Tigers matchday programmes. You can also send your pics to [email protected] to get your efforts posted on Matt’s official website at www.matthampson.co.uk

To make things as simple as possible, the concept will be self-sponsored and a minimum donation of £5 will be made to the Matt Hampson Trust. That doesn’t mean you can’t collect money from friends for your efforts – it just means you don’t have to in order take part. All you need to do is visit the www.matthampson.co.uk and follow the link. You will not be required to fill in personal information or add contact details unless you wish to do so.
