Leicester Tigers will begin the defence of the Guinness Premiership title with an away match against Sale Sharks during the opening weekend in September.

Although it is little over a month since Tigers collected a record eighth league and reached a fifth Heineken Cup Final, the countdown to the new season begins with the announcement of the 2009/10 Guinness Premiership fixture list today.

The first home game at the new-look Welford Road is against Newcastle Falcons on the weekend of September 18/19/20.

And with last season featuring the tightest competition yet in the Guinness Premiership and every club having high hopes for the new term, there will be a lot more excitement to follow.

Tigers lock horns with Northampton Saints in the first East Midlands derby of the season at the end of October and Neil Back’s Leeds Carnegie arrive at Welford Road at the end of November.

There is a home Christmas fixture against Sale Sharks and a clash with London Wasps early in the new year.

Tigers end the Guinness Premiership regular season with home games against Dean Richards’ Harlequins side at the end of April and then Saracens on May 8.

The best way to guarantee that you will not miss out on any of the 2009/10 action is with a Tigers season ticket. Prices have been held at last year’s rates, multi-year options are available and you can spread the cost by using our easy-payment scheme.

Season tickets sales have already exceeded last year’s levels at this stage, so don’t risk missing out on the best seats in the house or the biggest games. See the Tigers website now for season ticket details, contact the Tigers ticket office on 0844 856 1880 or call in at Welford Road.
