Hamilton looks forward to Welford Road return

Scott Hamilton described running out at Wembley Stadium as an awesome experience after Saturday's Aviva Premiership clash with Saracens but says he cannot wait to return to Welford Road.

Tigers made a first-ever appearance at the 90,000-capacity home of English football, taking two points from a 9-9 to remain unbeaten this season.

“It was a good buzz,” said New Zealand international Hamilton. “It was an awesome experience. It was probably a one-off for me so in that sense it is one to mark off the check list.

“The footballers in the team, they were really excited about it, but now we can't wait to be back at Welford Road and to play in front of our fans again.”

Tigers return to Welford Road this Saturday (kick-off 5.30pm) when they take on defending Aviva Premiership champions Harlequins in a repeat of last season’s Grand Final at Twickenham. It is the first of back-to-back honme fixtures, with Exeter Chiefs visiting on Saturday, September 29 (2.15pm).

And Hamilton expects Quins, who have taken three bonus point wins from their opening three games, to provide a different type of examination.

“The Quins bring a whole different type of dynamic,” said Hamilton. “It will be a different type of game plan. We will look at the way we are going to play and the areas where we can hurt them.”

Tickets for the game against Harlequins are available now from the Welford Road ticket office, on the hotline 0844 856 1880 or online by clicking here
