New signing Scott Hamilton is enjoying settling into life with Leicester Tigers after linking up with his new teammates.

New Zealand international Hamilton has begun training with Tigers after joining from Crusaders.

And the 28-year-old says the rest of squad are already making him feel at home.

He said: “We have got a good squad here and the guys have been really good. It’s been really enjoyable so far, which is the main thing.

“It makes a big difference to your performance on the field if you are enjoying things and happy off it.”

Hamilton has won two All Blacks caps and can play on either wing and at full-back. He has won the Super 14s three times with Crusaders and is now ready for a new challenge with Tigers.

He said: “I am feeling good and looking forward to getting back into it.”

Head coach Heyneke Meyer said Hamilton’s flexibility will give Tigers different options.

Meyer said: “What’s great about Scott is that he can play 15 and wing. He is an experienced full-back and gives us more options there."

Hamilton will be hoping to be in contention for his Tigers debut in the Guinness Premiership game against Harlequins at Welford Road on Saturday.

Tickets are available for the game from the Welford Road ticket office, online or by calling 08701 28 34 30.
