A week-long Tigers Rugby Course based at the rugby club, next to Harborough Leisure Centre in Northampton Road, provides the perfect opportunity to improve skills and game-play in the company of the Tigers coaching team in time for the kick-off to the 2012/13 season for players in the under-9 to under-16 age-groups.
Also, Tigers will also host a Tag coaching event on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings next week for the under-7 and under-8 age-groups.
The Harborough area has been represented by a string of players in the Tigers first-team over the years, including legendary captain Martin Johnson and current England international Dan Cole who played his early rugby at school in the town.
A Tigers Rugby Course could provide a first step for another generation of future Tigers stars to emerge.
Scott Clarke, Tigers community manager, said: "The Harborough area provides massive levels of support for Leicester Tigers and it is a great rugby area in terms of young players.
“Our coaches are really looking forward to the Tigers Rugby Course week and we’re hoping to see a member of the first-team squad pop in for a question-and-answer session during the week too.”
You can expect the following on a typical Tigers Rugby Course:
• Coaching from Tigers top qualified coaches from 9.30am to 3.30pm each day.
• Hot lunch and drinks
• A free junior ticket to an allocated Leicester Tigers match in the new season.
• Tigers Rugby Course T-shirt, ball and drinks bottle
• Full-time first aider at all courses
• Free membership to the Junior Tigers Club and the Crusha Cru
Tigers Rugby Courses are supported by energy efficiency specialists Mark Group and are the only courses run by and endorsed by Leicester Tigers.
Places are still available for the Tigers Rugby Course and Tag Course at Market Harborough next week as well as the course at Market Rasen.
