Scrum-half Sam Harrison has agreed terms on a new contract with Leicester Tigers.Harrison, 24, came through the Tigers academy to make his first-team debut in 2009 and has now topped 70 appearances for the club.   The most recent winner of the club's Goldsmiths Player of the Month award, Harrison also captained Tigers to victory in the opening three fixtures of this season’s LV= Cup on the way to the semi-finals.   A former England age-group international who played his early rugby with John Cleveland College in Hinckley, Harrison follows international trio Marcos Ayerza, Tom Youngs and Dan Cole, plus Owen Williams, Graham Kitchener, Fraser Balmain, Harry Thacker, Riccardo Brugnara and Tiziano Pasquali in agreeing new terms with Tigers.   Director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “Sam is Leicester Tigers through and through, and it is important to us to retain a Leicester core within the playing squad.   “His attitude to his work is first class and Sam is continuing to improve as a player. He has the respect of his team-mates and he has added a leadership role in a young side in the Cup fixtures this season.   “I’m sure he will continue to develop with us in the future.” Harrison said: "It is great for me to be staying at the club and something I had no hesitation in doing. "I grew up watching Tigers, I’ve always supported the team, I had heroes here as kid like Martin Johnson and Tim Stimpson, and I have a big connection with the club."
