Leicester Tigers Business Club members were provided with a unique insight from Microsoft’s Chief Security Advisor, Sarah Armstrong-Smith, at their closing event of another season this week.

The Tigers Business Club, run in association with club partners Mattioli Woods, offers an opportunity to network while hearing from keynote speakers at the home of the Leicester Tigers.

Sarah Armstrong-Smith talked about her successful career and the importance of online security for individuals and businesses, and what to look out for in terms of malware, ransomware and how to avoid falling into the common traps attached to this type of criminal activity.

“It was great to welcome Sarah who is clearly a master of her field,” said Mark Davies, head of business at Tigers.

“Throughout the season we try to provide a variety of speakers from sportspeople, TV personalities and successful businesspeople, and couldn’t think of a better person to speak at our final event of the season.”

Previous speakers this season have included SAS: Who Dares Wins TV presenter and former soldier Jason Fox, and Rugby World Cup winner Lewis Moody, while David Haye, Chris Kamara, Barry Hearn, Clare Balding and Ant Middleton have all been welcomed in recent seasons.

Members of the Business Club include leading members of the Leicestershire business scene alongside some of the strongest brands in the Midlands, meeting three times a year in person as well as virtually every month throughout the season to network on a regular basis.
