Tigers, Heineken Cup winners in 2001 and 2002, are the seeded team in Pool 4.
The draw was conducted this morning at Twickenham Stadium, the venue for the 2012 final.
Clermont, the French champions two seasons ago, finished fourth in the French Championship this season. Former club of Tigers’ director of rugby Richard Cockerill, Clermont played against Tigers in the group stages two seasons ago.
Ulster, who include former Tigers favourite Ian Humphries in their ranks, reached the quarter-finals of this season’s Heineken Cup and finished third in the Magners League. They were group opponents for Tigers in the 2003/04 competition.
Italian side Aironi enjoyed their first year in the Magners League this season and played against Tigers in the pool stages two seasons ago under their former banner of Viadana.
