Heineken Cup team news for this weekend

Thomas Waldrom and Boris Stankovich return to the Leicester Tigers line-up for Saturday's Heineken Cup Pool 4 clash with Clermont Auvergne at Welford Road (kick-off 1.30pm).

No8 Waldrom is named alongside Tom Croft and Julian Salvi in the Tigers back row, while Stankovich comes in at loosehead prop after a wrist injury to Marcos Ayerza.

Stankovich’s elevation means a call-up to the replacements bench for Julian White, and Ben Woods is selected as the back-row cover in the only other changes to the squad which travelled to France last weekend.

“Last week’s match was a tough, full-blooded encounter,” said Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill.

“It was as intense as any international match and we cannot fall off from that level this week.

“Clermont have an extremely strong squad with quality across the board but the scoreline was not very flattering for us last week and we know we have to be much better in terms of accuracy and when you get your chances you have to take them against a top-quality side.

“It will be a great occasion with a big home crowd for the weekend before Christmas and we’re looking forward to it.”

Tickets are available from the Tigers ticket office (open until 5pm Friday and from 9am on matchday). Call in or phone the hotline on 0844 856 1880. Supporters can also book tickets at the Tigers Club Store in Market Street, Leicester, or book online and collect from the stadium on your way to the game.
