Tigers fans young and old joined Ben Herring at Welford Road on Sunday for the launch of his new book, Boris Baloo.

The book is in aid of the Matt Hampson Trust and is inspired by Tigers prop Boris Stankovich. It also features characters based on teammates Martin Castrogiovanni, Marcos Ayerza and Dan Hipkiss.

Herring, Stankovich and Geoff Parling gave the first reading of Boris Baloo to more than 100 supporters who joined them for the book’s launch in the European Suite at Welford Road.

Herring said: “The launch went superbly and we couldn't have asked for a better turn out. The room was pretty much full so we were absolutely delighted.

"It was nice to read to a captive audience. The children were all listening with their eyes up to the front and we got a real kick out of it."

You can watch an exclusive LTTV interview with Ben Herring at the book launch as well as a star reading with the author and Boris Stankovich by clicking here.

Copies of Boris Baloo will be available from a stall in Final Whistle in the Caterpillar Stand at Tigers' next home game against London Irish on Saturday (kick off 5.35pm) for a recommended £10 donation to the Matt Hampson Trust. Copies are also available from the Matt Hampson website by clicking here.

An eBook version of Boris Baloo, published by Leicestershire media ideas company Sleepydog, is available as an App for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It is available to download from the iTunes App Store at £2.99 with proceeds going to the Matt Hampson Trust.
