Hills best on show for Nottingham

Leicester Tigers front-rower Owen Hills, who is currently playing for Nottingham Rugby in the Greene King IPA Championship, took Man of the Match honours in their narrow defeat to competition leaders London Irish in Round 12.

Hills has featured in the past two Championship rounds for Nottingham alongside Tigers team mates Sam Lewis and Tom Varndell, with the trio getting much needed game time ahead of potential appearances for Leicester during the final round of this season's Premiership Rugby Cup and next block of Gallagher Premiership fixtures as several stars feature for their respective countries in the 2019 Six Nations.

Hills only recently returned to action after a knee injury required surgery in the opening weeks of the 2018/19 season and has since appeared in the Premiership Rugby Shield before being 'loaned' to Nottingham in the opening weeks of the new year.

Nottingham welcomed Irish to 'The Bay' in Round 12 of this season's Championship and came away with a losing bonus-point after a tough battle which ended 29-35 to the league leading London side.

Nottingham sit sixth on the table with 34 points and ten rounds remaining in the season, with Irish comfortably ahead of the pack on 54 points and trailed by Ealing on 45 and Jersey on 43 points.
