Dan Hipkiss and Pat Howard have been named Guinness Premiership Player and Head Coach of the Month for April following a string of impressive performances.

Hipkiss has been a mainstay of the Tigers team this year, recently winning Players' Player of the Season.

"I'm honoured to have won the award for April," said Hipkiss. "It's been a good season so far for Tigers and that's been based on a real team effort. Pat's done a great job with the team and it's good to see that's been recognised with his head coach of the month award. We've got a massive game on Saturday against Gloucester and hopefully we can end the Guinness Premiership season on a high."

The voting panel Chairman, Sky's Miles Harrison, said of Hipkiss this season, "The Leicester squad this year has been full of key individuals contributing greatly but, amidst all these eye-catching performers, Dan has stood out as one of his club's leading lights. His strong finish to the season has further underlined his importance to the Tigers."

In reference to Pat Howard, Harrison added, "In his final season at the club, Pat Howard is on the verge of leading Leicester to a treble but, whatever happens over the next two Saturdays, he has already given Tigers' supporters a season to remember. In the last few weeks especially, his management of the squad deserves the utmost praise."

The voting panel consists of five members of the rugby media and the PRA representative for each of the 12 Guinness Premiership clubs.
