It helped secure a 33-27 victory and a record ninth English league title for Tigers.
“I think it is my best moment for Leicester,” said Hipkiss, who came on as a second-half replacement at Twickenham. “It means a lot.
“Some of the tries I have scored along the way have been good but I am happy that came in the final. I am delighted and really happy with it.”
Hipkiss was making his first appearance for Tigers since February after missing the run-in to the season through injury, and added: “I am sure the neutrals were happy with that sort of game with the lead changing all of the time.
“It was a fantastic end. I can imagine it was tough on my family and the fans watching. I am glad it came our way.”
