Holland & Barrett lead record year of sponsorship

In the 15 months since being notified that the club would need to find for a new main partner, Leicester Tigers can now report record sponsorship levels, led by the relationship with Holland & Barrett.

In November 2015, Tigers had the unenviable task of replacing the largest sponsorship in club rugby, but were also presented with an opportunity for the first time in eight years to attract new investment in terms of high-profile associations with the team kit.

In the space of seven months since the end of the previous main sponsorship, Tigers have attracted record sponsorship revenues for the 2016/17 season by creating or upgrading agreements with Holland & Barrett, Mattioli Woods, Nottingham Building Society, STIHL, Aggregate Industries, Breedon, Thomas Cook and Leo Vegas.

Tigers commercial director Andrea Pinchen said: “Each partner has a unique reason for being involved with the club and it is Tigers’ ability to show a return on a partner’s investment that has allowed us to attract such a fantastic level of investment in a short period of time.

“That ability comes as a result of the strength and quality of our support. Our partners are hugely impressed by the loyalty and size of support on matchdays as well as from around the world.

“What has particularly struck a chord has been that the Tigers Family has stuck with the team through some unsettled times and that we have already had more than 10,000 season ticket holders commit again for the 2017/18 season.”

The largest success has been in attracting Holland & Barrett as the club’s main partner from the start of the 2016/17 season. Alongside this partnership, Tigers took the opportunity to welcome the knowledge and experience of Peter Aldis, Holland & Barrett’s chief executive, to the board of directors.
