Countdown begins - the players are back in training and the fixtures are out. It can't be long now, can it?With the World Cup in England this autumn, the Aviva Premiership season won’t start until mid-October, with the Kings of the North taking place over the six weeks immediately before it. So it’s still a wait. Good job we’ve got the fixture list so we can at least start thinking about the league season.
London Irish away first, Northampton and Bath away last. They were the three fixtures that immediately jumped out of the list for The Tig.
Harlequins and Wasps at home in Rounds 2 and 3, Newcastle at home at Christmas, Saracens away at New Year, and Worcester in the last home game. They all came next.
Of course, the derby days are massive too, with Saints at home before the Six Nations in January and away in the run-in to the end of the season. Add a second trip to the Ricoh in Coventry and the hour-long trip to Worcester in December and there’s a good few ‘local’ days out.
No doubt many supporters have already checked out the fixtures during the Six Nations too and earmarked their favourites home and away.
If only it started on July 25 rather than October 25.
Oh well, countdown to the Los Pumas game on September 5 and then the Kings of the North starts now!
