Important matchday access information

Guinness Premiership champions Leicester Tigers have installed a state-of-the-art access control system for supporters to gain matchday entry to Welford Road this season.

Using the latest in barcode technology, the system will improve security, reduce queues and ensure all fans enter the ground safely and speedily on matchdays.

The system will see a Season Ticket Match Access Card replace the traditional season ticket book of vouchers.

To enter Welford Road, supporters simply hold their card against the reader. The reader will check the card is valid for that game before allowing entry to the ground.

Non-season ticket holders will still be issued with a traditional paper ticket for home fixtures but the ticket will contain a barcode which will allow access to the stadium. At the turnstile, the paper ticket should be inserted into the reader, which will check the ticket is valid for that game.

Leicester Tigers managing director David Clayton said: "Throughout the new Caterpillar Stand we have used the very latest technology and IT systems and this also applies to the access on matchdays for our supporters.

"We have also taken the opportunity to use this access technology in the other stands around the ground."

Season ticket holders will receive their Season Ticket Match Access Card in the next couple of weeks. Click here to download further information on the new entry system.

They will have the chance to familiarise themselves with the new access control system at Tigers' Access All Areas Open Day on Sunday, September 13.

The event starts at 10am for season ticket holders and staff will be available to help supporters with their enquiries. Doors open at 11am for non-season ticket holders and the Open Day ends at 4pm.

More than 60 per cent of Welford Road is already sold-out for next season but there is still the chance to book your place. Download a season ticket pack or contact the ticket office on 0844 856 1660.
