Italy international prop Michele Rizzo has agreed a new contract with Leicester Tigers.
Rizzo has returned from injury to take his place in the Tigers front row in the second half of the 2016/17 season and was part of the Anglo-Welsh Cup Final squad which picked up the club’s first silverware since 2013 with victory over Exeter Chiefs earlier this month.
The form of the 34-year-old Rizzo also earned him a recall to the Italy squad during the 2017 Six Nations and he now has 23 Test caps.
Rizzo said: “I have agreed another contract and it is great to stay with the club. It is a privilege for me to play for the Leicester Tigers and from the first moment I joined I thought Leicester felt like home.”
Tigers forwards coach Richard Blaze said: “Micky has been in good form since his return from injury and we feel he still has a lot to offer in a competitive group of front-rowers at the club.”
