Tigers Community profile

Name: Fraser Goatcher

Role: Independent Schools Rugby Development Officer

Before joining the team at Leicester Tigers, I worked as a club development officer for Heathfield & Waldron RFC, one of the top clubs in Sussex when it comes to community engagement. Through this role, I was able to gain valuable experience working with independent schools and colleges in their area, helping to develop the standard of rugby locally.

I was also heavily involved in women’s rugby, starting and developing the women’s and girls’ section at Heathfield and also leading the county women’s programme, introducing a Senior Development XV.

I have obtained my Level 3 coaching qualification and have been coaching since I was 16 years old. I still play at Lichfield RFC, with previous playing experience at Heathfield & Waldron, Hartpury University, Cheltenham Tigers, Cinderford and Sussex County.

Job Role:

I have joined Tigers to continue my passion for rugby development in a newly-created role as the independent schools rugby development officer.

The chance to join the biggest club in the country and current Premiership champions was one I couldn’t refuse. Tigers are supporting me to continue to improve as a coach, aiding my ambitions and always challenging me to be the best I can be. It is an incredible working environment.

We have so many amazing independent schools within our Tigers area and my job is to create positive relationships with these schools based on:

  • Coaching delivery
  • Staff Coaching CPD support and upskilling
  • Tigers rugby Festivals
  • Tigers camps
  • Tigers Experiences

We want the staff and students at these schools to have long-lasting positive memories of Leicester Tigers and help them to achieve their rugby goals.
