It doesn't get much tougher than this - Cockerill

Leicester Tigers know they will have to be at their best when they face Toulon in the Stade Mayol on Saturday afternoon.

Tigers moved to within a point of the French champions at the top of European Rugby Champions Cup Pool 3 with a 25-21 victory at Welford Road last Sunday.

But director of rugby Richard Cockerill says they are under illusions about the size of the task in the return leg in the south of France.

“I thought the performance, the energy and the will to win in the team were fantastic,” said Cockerill.

“It was a great occasion and the players deserve a lot of credit for it.

"But the first thing we said after the game was that it was all right being pleased with ourselves but now we have to go to Toulon and we know it will be tough.

“Toulon will be exceptionally hard to beat and we have to get it dead right. There’s no getting away from how good they are as a team – they have quality right through the squad.

“It is one of the toughest places to go in world rugby, we know it is going to be a huge game and we are not going to get ahead of ourselves. But it is a challenge we want to take head on.”

Kick-off at the Stade Mayol is at 4.15pm local time, 3.15pm in the UK. The match is being shown live by BT Sport, or keep in touch with the Tigers social media channels and the club website.
