Leicester Tigers will celebrate the start of the new Aviva Premiership season with Tigers in the Park, a day of fun and games for the whole community.

Leicester kick-off the new campaign against Exeter Chiefs at Welford Road on Saturday, September 3 and Tigers plan to make the opening game of the season even more special with a fun-packed family event.

David Clayton, Tigers managing director, said: “There is always a special feeling around the first game of the season and we wanted to make our opening game against Exeter Chiefs an occasion for everyone.

“We have a real commitment to the community and wanted to give something back.

“Tigers in the Park will be free to attend and will be open for everyone, not just our supporters who will be coming to the game.

“The city council have been very supportive of our plans and we hope to make the event an annual attraction to celebrate One Leicester.

“We will have lots going on including rugby-based games, dance demonstrations and the chance to meet the new club mascot.

“Everyone at Tigers is looking forward to the first game and we hope that Tigers in the Park will create a real buzz around the start of the new Aviva Premiership season.

Tigers in the Park will be held on Nelson Mandela Park and the plaza in front of the Caterpillar Stand at Welford Road. It starts at 11am until kick-off at 3pm and entry is free.

Attractions include a bouncy castle, an inflatable run and a rodeo rugby ball, the army will be bringing a mini tank and their climbing wall and there will also be stalls, food and a bar.

The Tigers Roadshow Vehicle, known as The Maul, will be running the Speed Pass challenge, Spot the Ball and our interactive Tigers quiz, while the Tigers community team will be holding tag rugby sessions.
