We are pleased to confirm that Wayne Lakin, Leicester Tigers judo coach, will be attending this year's rugby course at Bassingbourn Army Barracks.

Leicester Tigers' community team have joined forces with the British Army and Premier Rugby to run what will be an outstanding development opportunity for every serious, young player aged 14-17. Based at Bassingbourn Army Barracks, famous for stationing the Memphis Bell during World War 2, Tigers' professional coaches will run a full-week's daily coaching programme focusing on the improvement of skills, game understanding and long term athletic development for the elite player.

Working closely with the British Army Training team, the attendees will also get an insight into life in the Army. This will test their abilities in a range of challenging and exciting team building, leadership and initiative sessions throughout the week. Bassingbourn is a working barracks and an environment built for this purpose.
Unsurprisingly given Wayne's experiences as an international judo star, The Tigers community team are excited about his involvement and what he will bring to the rugby courses. ''Judo has formed an integral part of Leicester Tigers' training and development over recent times and we are pleased to now be able to offer this element of our schedule on our rugby courses,'' said Scott Clarke, Leicester Tigers' community manager.

"Wayne will be spending a couple of days on the course working with the young players introducing judo and explaining its relevance to all participants in rugby terms. It is great to have someone with his pedigree involved with the courses and this will provide an exciting variation for all who attend".
