Sione Kalamafoni says Tigers are putting in the hard yards during pre-season to give them the best possible preparation for the coming season.

Kalamafoni says he is settling in quickly into life at the club after his summer move to Welford Road, and that he is honoured to have joined the club.

The Tonga international back-rower says he is ambitious to win trophies at Tigers, but stressed that starts on the training field with hard work in pre-season.

“We are settling in with the family,” said Kalamafoni. “And the boys have been very welcoming to all of the new players.

“Leicester is a very good club. It is one of the best in the country. They are always there or thereabouts. They have won a lot of trophies. It is an honour to have this opportunity to play for this big club.

“The ultimate will be to win trophies, but first and foremost we have to work towards that. Pre-season is the time that we need to prepare ourselves to achieve those goals.”
