Kalamafoni leads the way in OPTA stats

Sione Kalamafoni continues to lead the carrying stats in the Aviva Premiership after his Aviva Man of the Match performance in the win against Bath Rugby.

Kalamafoni made 26 carries in the game, according to OPTA, including the two that led to his tries in the 34-19 victory at Twickenham.

It was the most by any player in Round 19 of the Aviva Premiership and took his total number of carries to 271, the most in the competition this season.

Kalamafoni is also Tigers’ top tackler in the Aviva Premiership with 207, while Graham Kitchener is second for the team with 175.

Kitchener features high in the lineout stats, the OPTA Rugby Rankings show. He is fourth across the league with 79 lineouts won.

Telusa Veainu beat five defenders against Bath to take his total for the league season to 71, more than any other player in the competition.

His 116 metres at HQ took him to 1,249m for the season, behind only Alex Goode and Olly Woodburn. Veainu also made 18 carries against Bath to take his total for the league season to 201.
