Leicester Tigers hooker Jake Kerr says the club’s fans deserve a ‘strong performance’ on the pitch when they host Bath on the final weekend of the regular season.
The Somerset outfit head to Welford Road for Round 22 of the Gallagher Premiership season next Saturday, May 18 (4.00pm), and the Scotland international explained his side are aiming to do all they can to reward the fans that have stuck by the club through a topsy-turvy campaign.
“We just want to play well as a team and be there for the fans who have supported us all year,” he said.
“The fact they’ve still been strong behind us the whole time, through all the ups and downs, I think they deserve a strong performance from us to end the season.
“Hopefully it will be something that we can build on looking forward to next year.”
While a bonus point away to Harlequins in Round 21 – plus other results on the same weekend – rubber-stamped Tiger’s Premiership safety, Kerr said that the privilege of playing in front of a home crowd meant the squad still have plenty to play for in their final game.
He continued: “Our position hasn’t really been touched on too much.
“We’ve got Bath next week, so we’re just looking forward to that game and getting out there, and hopefully playing a style of rugby we can all enjoy.
“We want to hopefully end the season on a bit of a high note.”
