Former Conservative Party leader Iain Duncan Smith has been confirmed among the keynote speakers at The HUDDLE at Welford Road next month.

Supported by headline sponsors Mattioli Woods, The HUDDLE is a business event hosted at Welford Road, home of the Leicester Tigers, on Tuesday, November 8.

The Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP will be a leading keynote speaker on the ‘Once in a Generation: Brexit’ topic and also part of a panel discussion on the Apprenticeship Levy.

First elected as a Member of Parliament in 1992, Mr Duncan Smith took a lead role in the Vote Leave campaign ahead of the EU referendum this year and is now working alongside colleagues to ensure the Government achieves a smooth exit from the EU and forms a new relationship based on trade, continuing friendship and co-operation.

Also a former Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Mr Duncan Smith set up the Centre for Social Justice after stepping down as party leader, focusing on the problems facing those in the lowest income groups.

The Brexit debate and Apprenticeship panel are two elements in a full programme of events already confirmed for the return of The HUDDLE, with keynote speakers, expert panel masterclasses and networking opportunities.

Paddy Power has already been confirmed as a keynote speaker. He has experienced first-hand the growth in high street betting, the move towards online and mobile betting, and the surge in the popularity of the Paddy Power brand.

Following the same winning format as last year, HUDDLE kicks off at 9am with breakfast, and will include talks from top-flight keynote speakers and expert panel masterclasses. Sessions will also allow time for refreshments and the chance to network.

Masterclasses are entitled ‘Not Another Meeting!’, ‘The Apprenticeship Levy: Are you ready?’ and ‘Backing a Winner’.

In ‘Not Another Meeting!’ we discuss the importance of face-to-face communication and how to help people to stay engaged, as well as understand the importance and motivational power of the meeting.

The ‘Apprenticeship Levy’ is a topical subject and our panel of HR professionals and business owners will discuss its implications and how businesses should prepare.

‘Backing a Winner’ is all about the BIG idea and why innovation is at the heart of business survival.
