Leicester Tigers is helping fans to get into shape this 2019 with the club’s weekly FitFans training sessions.
Taking place every Monday evening (6.00pm – 8.00pm) and Wednesday evening (5.30pm – 7.30pm), Tigers run four hour long sessions covering a variety of training techniques for all abilities.
From interval and High Intensity Training (HITs) to cardio, circuits and exercise classes, Tigers health education officer Ashleigh Theobald puts members through their paces to help reach their goals.
“There’s a huge focus on fun in these sessions”, Ashleigh says. “Whilst we do work hard, it’s all about getting fit and having fun at the same time.
“We combine exercises with fun games and the groups have become really close so always help to encourage others around them.”

With eight years of training experience and a sports therapy graduate, Ashleigh runs the 10-week sessions at Welford Road.
“It’s a hugely inspirational venue to train in, surrounded by the history and the club, and in the past we’ve utilised the full facility – even training on the pitch in the summer months.
“We’ve just started our next cohort of 10-week sessions, so there’s still time to get involved. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, get fit, or even just looking for a fun activity to do in the week, get involved with FitFans.”
Fans can pay on a session-by-session basis at cost of £4.50 each week or a one-off payment of £35 for the full 10-week programme.
