Kick-off at Tigers' first girls-only Rugby Camp

The first-ever Tigers Rugby Camp for girls is underway at Market Harborough rugby club.Almost 40 players in school years 9 and 10 are attending the free two-day camp, which kicked off today (Monday).   Leicester Tigers and England centre Anthony Allen is due to visit the camp today for a Q&A.   A second free girls-only camp takes place at Melton Mowbray RFC on Wednesday and Thursday and places are still available. Click here for details.   The camps are for players in school years 9 and 10 and are run in conjunction with Premiership Rugby and the Equality and Human Rights Commission.   Participants will receive a FREE ticket to Tigers’ Aviva Premiership clash with London Welsh on the weekend of April 25.   Ashby RFC is also hosting a Tigers Rugby Camp this week, which is open to girls and boys. Indeed, all Tigers Rugby Camps are open to girls and boys and with dates and venues confirmed into the summer holidays places are starting to fill up. Click here to find a camp near you.   Tigers Rugby Camps are supported by energy-efficiency specialists Mark Group, and are for players aged in the under-nines to under-14s age groups and there are tag rugby camps too for under-sevens and under-eights.   The camps to players of all abilities, who will receive rugby tips from coaches with a wealth of experience at the highest levels of the sport, including former Tigers and England hooker George Chuter and ex-All Black Craig Newby taking on roles alongside the likes of Glen Gelderbloom, Ian ‘Dosser’ Smith and Troy Thacker.   Click here to book a place on a Tigers Rugby Camp and to book a place, or call 0116 319 8888 (option 2).
