Kick-off time change for Tigers v Bristol

The Leicester Tigers home game against Bristol Bears in the Gallagher Premiership on Saturday, January 4 will now kick off at 1.00pm.

The request from Tigers to change the kick-off time was made as Leicester City FC have been drawn at home in the FA Cup against Wigan Athletic on the same day. For policing and traffic reasons in and around the area, Tigers made the request to which Premiership Rugby and Bristol Bears have agreed.

The club has worked with the authorities, including Premiership Rugby and Leicestershire’s Safety Advisory Group, as well as neighbours Leicester City, in finding the best available solution for both clubs’ supporters. The football fixture will be a 5.31pm kick-off.

Tigers head of brand Chris Rose said the decision to re-arrange kick-off was made with the interests of supporters in mind.

He said: “Ultimately, the main driver was to ensure that our game remained on Saturday as it is too close to the match to be inconveniencing our supporters and travelling Bristol Bears fans.

“As well as looking after those who have already booked their tickets to our Gallagher Premiership fixture, we also want to be good neighbours to our friends at the Foxes.

“It’s never ideal when we have to make a change, at any time, and the team at Welford Road will do all they can to sort any issues or answer any questions fans may have after this announcement.”

Fans who have purchased match tickets, matchday hospitality or a group days booking will be contacted by the club with further information.

For any supporters who require more information regarding the impact of the re-arranged kick-off, please contact the Tigers Ticket Office by phoning 0116 319 8888 (option 2) to speak with a member of the Customer Service department.
