Kids get active at Global Payments Healthy Schools

It’s back to school this week for many pupils across the region as the club continues its aim to get primary school kids thinking healthily with the Global Payments Healthy Schools programme.

The initiative – which sees Leicester Tigers takeover schools for one week to teach them about eating and living healthier lives – is on target to reach 6,000 pupils by the end of this school year.

With classroom activities and workbooks to getting active outside of PE lessons, Tigers health education officer Ashleigh Theobald has visited schools across Leicestershire and Leicester.

She recently took-over lessons at Ashby Willesley Primary School and LTTV went along to see the great work in action.

Alongside visiting the school, youngsters are also in with a chance of becoming their school’s Healthy Schools champion and coming along to Welford Road to watch a Tigers match.

If your primary school would like to get involved in the free Healthy Schools programme, or you want to find out more information, please contact [email protected] or call 0797 061 9444.
