Earlier in the day, Welford Road partied in the sunshine with funk legends Kool and the Gang and British soul group The Real Thing. Reggae band UB40 produced one of the most well-received sets of the weekend, closing it with their classic Red Red Wine.
X Factor winner Sam Bailey was given a rapturous reception on her return to her home city while the younger members of the audience danced to the pop sounds of Union J and The Saturdays.
