Last few places on kicking masterclass

Jeremy Staunton returns to Welford Road for a kicking masterclass later this month and only a handful of places remain available.

Leicester Tigers are running a series of Welford Road Masterclasses during the May half-term week with favourite players from the past and present.

They are proving hugely popular with Staunton’s kicking session close to selling out. A breakdown and contact skills masterclass with Craig Newby and a unit skills masterclass with Boris Stankovich are also in high demand.

Former Tigers and Ireland fly-half Staunton will lead a day of specialist coaching at the home of Tigers on Thursday, May 30 aimed at improving the games of players in the under-11 to under-16 age groups. His masterclass will cover all forms of kicking, from place kicking to kicking out of hand, from the grubber kick to drop-kicking.

Players who want to take part in are encouraged to book now to avoid disappointment.

Welford Road will welcome former Tigers and All Blacks back rower Newby for a breakdown and contact skills masterclass on May 29.

And Stankovich’s masterclass on Tuesday, May 28 will focus on the work of the forwards, including the scrum and lineout.

Welford Road Masterclasses are for players in U11s to U16s age groups and are an excellent opportunity to learn and develop position-specific skills.

Players attending a masterclass will receive a free junior ticket to an allocated first-team game at Welford Road next season as well as lunch on the day, a Rugby Camp T-shirt, a water bottle, a rugby ball and free membership to the Junior Tigers Club.

Places are filling up fast and players are encouraged to book now to avoid disappointment. Book online by clicking here or contact the ticket office on 0844 856 1880 (option 2).
