Leicester Tigers 24/25 Coaching Team

Leicester Tigers have confirmed the men's squad coaching staff for the 2024/25 season. 

Experienced attack coach Peter Hewat joins the club in 24/25 as Attack and Backs coach, having previously held roles at BlackRams Tokyo (head coach), Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath and the ACT Brumbies (Assistant).

Born and raised in Australia, Hewat, 46, began his playing career at the NSW Waratahs before joining London Irish in 2007. He made 78 appearances and scored 491 points in three seasons with Irish and started at fullback in the 2009 Premiership final against Leicester Tigers.

Tigers great Matt Smith, who was seconded to the senior squad as interim attack coach for the 2023/24 season, will return to his role as Skills and Lead Academy Coach.

Tiger #2029 Brett Deacon will also officially move into the role of Forwards Coach ahead of next season, with Matt Everard (Defence) and Dan Palmer (Scrum) continuing in their current roles.

The other addition to the club is Matt Parr, who returns to Tigers as head of athletic performance.

A professional player with Tigers, Sale Sharks, Saracens and London Irish, Parr departed the club in January of 2022 to take up the head of performance role with rugby league club, Catalan Dragons.

Parr began in the role of Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach in June 2016 after finishing up his playing career before being promoted to Strength and Conditioning Lead ahead of the 2020/21 season under then Head of Physical Performance Aled Walters.
