Leicester Tigers name team to go to Treviso

Captain Martin Corry will return to the Leicester Tigers back row for Saturday’s Heineken Cup match against Benetton Treviso in Italy.

Head coach Heyneke Meyer has been forced into making a change in his forward pack after injury to openside flanker Ben Woods, so Tom Croft moves across the back row and Corry switches from lock to take the No6 shirt.

Marco Wentzel, who plays against Treviso for the first time since leaving the club for Welford Road in the Summer of 2007, comes in to partner Ben Kay in the second row.

Tigers retain the same backline that started the match against the Ospreys.

Seru Rabeni returns to the squad after suspension and is named among the replacements, while Brett Deacon is called up to provide cover for the back-row positions.

“It was important that we started the competition with a win last week,” said Meyer. “Now we need to take the same mentality and the same focus into Saturday’s game.

“This team sets high standards, they keep pushing themselves and they know they can play better. I like that attitude.

“I know Treviso coach Franco Smith quite well, they will be physical opponents and it is important for us to be on top of our game.”

Martin Castrogiovanni, Louis Deacon, Lewis Moody and Ben Pienaar have yet to play this season as they continue their recovery from injury, while Ben Herring is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
